Is there a sin for leaving Salah even if one prays Qadha’?
Question
Will we get punished for not praying fajr, even if we make it up later (Qadha’)?
Answer
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Salah is an obligation on muslims. This means that if a person misses his salah, it remains a liability on him. This liability is of such a nature that can never be fulfilled. The only recompense we can offer is the Qadha’ (makeup) and then hope for Allah to forgive our shortcoming.
We have to remember that the punishment for this deficiency on our part rests on Allah’s mercy. We should increase this hope for His mercy by making abundant Istighfar (repentance) and continual effort to establish our Salah on time.
I make dua that Allah give you, your family and myself the ability to fulfill our obligation.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best
