I apply hair-loss medication twice a day. Is my fasting in Ramadan acceptable?

Question

I apply a drug for hair loss, this drug is in the form of a foam which contains a percentage of alcohol, I apply this drug to the empty parts of my head twice a day.

Is it my fasting acceptable?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Application of hair-loss medication on the scalp does not invalidate the fast. Your fast is intact.[1]

However, have a thorough review of the medication to see if it is sharʿan pure so that its application does not affect your Salah and ʿibadāt.

[(لا) يكره (دهن شارب و) لا (كحل) إذا لم يقصد الزينة]
(قوله: لا دهن شارب وكحل) بفتح الفاء مصدرين وبضمها اسمين، وعلى الثاني فالمعنى: لا يكره استعمالهما إلا أن الرواية هو لأول وتمامه في النهر وذكر في الإمداد أول الباب أنه يؤخذ من هذا أنه لا يكره للصائم شم رائحة المسك والورد ونحوه مما لا يكون جوهرا متصلا كالدخان فإنهم قالوا لا يكره الاكتحال بحال، وهو شامل للمطيب وغيره، ولم يخصوه بنوع منه وكذا دهن الشارب. اه
