The girl I wish to marry, her elder brother has suckled milk of my grand Mother, Can I marry her?

Question:

I want to marry my cousin , but problem is that her elder brother has suckled milk of my grand Mother, Can I marry her?

My grand mother is also saying that when the child suckled breast there was no milk in it.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle if someone suckled a baby and ther after claimed that there was no milk in her breast, then her statement will be taken and the prohibition of forstership will not take place. ¹

Similarly if someone suckled “A”, then the prohibition of marrying ‘A’ through this suckling does not apply to A’s sister. ²

Hence, even if your grand mother had suckled the brother of the girl, the prohibition of foster-ship does not come in between yourself and the girl. Hence, It is permissible for you to marry this girl.
