Is Goatee beard permissible?

Question

Also.. in regards to my beard.. i have a fist full but its a gotti with my lower lip side hair shaved keeping the center lower lip hair(since i have heard you should not remove this, but u can remove the side strands of the lower lip) and connected to my gotti(like a straight line) with side beard trimmed not shaved being a quarter inch long in length from my ear starting all the way below my jaw till where chin begins on the both sides of my face..

Is this type of fist full of beard acceptable?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

According to Hanafi Madhab, the beard spans from one temple to the other, over the lower jawbone including the chin. The baby beard, which is the small hair growth under the lower lip, comes under the same ruling as the beard. It is wajib (compulsory) to keep a fist length beard from all its sides. Hence the description you have mentioned does not fulfill the requirement of a beard. We pray that Allah grants you the ability to fulfill this obligation and reward you with immense bounties.

قوله: جميع اللحية) بكسر اللام وفتحها نهر، وظاهر كلامهم أن المراد بها الشعر النابت على الخدين من عذار وعارض والذقن.

وفي شرح الإرشاد: اللحية الشعر النابت بمجتمع الخدين والعارض ما بينهما وبين العذار وهو القدر المحاذي للأذن، يتصل من الأعلى بالصدغ ومن الأسفل بالعارض بحر.

“واللحى” بفتح اللام قوله: “منبت اللحية” بكسر الباء واللحية بكسر اللام شعر الخدين والذقن قاموس قوله: “فوق عظم الأسنان” أي المنبت هو بعض الخد أي الذي هو فوق عظم الأسنان وفي الخطيب واللحيان بفتح اللام على المشهور العظمان اللذان تنبت عليهما الأسنان السفلى
