Are Spanish Fly capsules halal? It is an insect known to help men in their intimacy department. It has been used for thousands of years in Europe and available in Canada. Will using it be permissible in order to improve my sex life since I am having trouble getting an erection. I know that consumption of insects in Islam is haram, but in this case will it be halal.

As you have correctly pointed out that flies are fom hasharaat al-ardh, and impermissible for consumption.[i] There are alternatives such as viagra and other medicines available in market. Moreover, there are complete treatments available for erectile deficiency which do not require consuming haram. In presence of suitable medical alternative, it will not be permissible to use a medication which has haram ingredient in it.
